How To Select The Correct Trigger Sprayer

Finding the correct trigger sprayer for your unique application does not require skill. We have compiled a simple 6 step checklist to help you make the right choice.

Step 1. Liquid type:

For any potential trigger sprayer, the first thing to consider is whether the product and packaging are compatible? Liquid types are often discussed using the term "viscosity", which refers to the thickness, stickiness, or consistency of the liquid. If your liquid is dangerous or corrosive, we can recommend special chemical-resistant sprayers.

Step 2. Determine the ideal volume for the sprayer to output:

The volume is measured by the amount of liquid released by fully pulling the trigger (first the main trigger). The output of a typical sprayer is 0.75 ml, but there are also options for up to 5 ml.

Step 3. Choose spray method:

Another equally important factor is how you want the sprayer to spray when it is released. For example, your trigger can produce a spray, direct current, a circular stream of uniform water droplets, a fine mist or a foam pattern.

Step 4. Decide how to package the product for transportation:

Consider whether the sprayer is pre-assembled or the consumer needs to install various components. For many garden products, the sprayer is attached to the outside of the bottle, while ordinary household cleaners and pet sprayers are attached to the bottle and can be used at any time. Another factor to consider is the shipper and non-shipper. Many trigger sprayers have an on/off position, but a "shipper" is specifically designed in the "off" position, so it will not leak during transportation. Here, the desire for quality and in-depth consideration will make a big difference, and affect how your product survives various modes of transportation before it is put on the shelf or arrives at the customer’s door.

Step 5. Next, you have to find the right size:

There are many different types of neck sizes and styles, usually ranging from 24 mm to 28 mm, with different thread lengths.

Step 6. Dip tube length:

The trigger can be with many dip tube lengths because these are custom made. To determine the length, measure on the inside of the bottleneck until you touch the bottom of the bottle. Sometimes, the delivery time of a new tube can be prohibitive. You need to find a solution quickly and talk to our experts about the options to shorten the tube, or replace the longer tube if it is too short.
